In Miami South Beach art deco district What hotels would you recommend?

I saw photos of the Colony,Boulevard,The Beacon hotel with their neon lights.I looked
up their reviews on hotels.com and I see many people leave not good reviews on these small art deco hotels. What can you tell me about the ones to stay and the ones you would say stay away from?

Last year my friend and I stayed at The Park Central on Ocean Boulevard right in the heart of the art deco area of South Beach. This hotel is nice and reasonably priced compared to comparable hotels in the area. I researched a lot of sites and booked this place based on the recommendations of reviews on www.tripadvisor.com. This hotel is consistently rated very high on this site. I was not disappointed.
