How To Generate Top Organic Leads
Imagine the value to your business if you harness the power to generate Top Organic Leads without the use of Pay-per-Click or paid advertising. A few people I know have gone on to master the art of Generating Top Quality Organic leads in addition to building an on-line presence; these people have gone on to enjoy the financial benefits.
It is impossible for me to cover all aspects of this information in one blog post, so I will break it down into several series of posts. I will also condense as much as possible to a basic understanding.
Let’s get you started! Sound good?
Basically, there are two definitions of two items I will discuss here. Why you need to do it; how this will benefit you; what you can expect from it. Most importantly – How you can do this economically and efficiently.
1 – Social Bookmarking
Let’s look at Social Bookmarking. You have seen sites before like Delicious, Mix and Mr. Wong Dig. These are sites to accumulate bookmarks of favourite sites that YOU personally visit and like. You then create a bookmark, with a link along with keywords that you want to identify and tag it with. By doing this, they point to those sites.
Now, in the search engines ‘eyes’, this is a vote for that particular site you have bookmarked. Obviously we want to promote our own sites and respectfully the sites that are promoting us; this is why we do things like social book marking.
We put up a blog post, write an article or make a new webpage; we happily let search engines know by pinging and social bookmarking. Picture it in your mind - little breadcrumbs scattered around…eventually the birds will spot it and of course consume it.
Search Engines work the same way, they are lured towards fresh new inviting content that they are eager to present on their search engine sites and before you know it; your site is indexed and ranked according to the quality and traffic. This in turn is a major step towards getting you ranked and more traffic. However,
I must point out to be careful not to be gun-hoe with every Post. Temping, I know! The search engines will consider this to be spamming, and before you know it you will have your social bookmark account flagged or even worse …deleted! It has happened to a few I know, you really only want your best work to be the ones highlighted.
2 – What Is Pinging?
Pinging can be likened to electronic signal to the search engines. This lets them know there is new fresh content available. Let’s say you have a page on your blog and you ping that page after you have written the blog post; some wordpress sites do a great job of pinging posts automatically,( lucky me). Not all wordpress sites do a good job of pinging your site, so here is a small list of some good ping sites to consider.
- ping.fm
- pingomatic.com
- feedping.com
- pingler.com
Once you ping your post, this sends out an electronic signal to alert search engines that new content is available; they sprawl in, take a good look then index it.
To break this down to further understand search engines, first do a crawl, the spiders join in the search followed by the Google Bot. What happens next is the search engines prepare to set it up for indexing down the road, usually a few days later. When the time is precise, the search engines read all the content then proceed; much to our delight - an initial rank! If your content is a brand new page on the internet, then Google will usually start with a rank of Zero, until some incoming links are built into it.
So, if you have a good keyword and lots of links inbound, people start taking notice of your content to easily find your blog posts. All these small things add up, eventually you will hit the jackpot. Basically, a ping is an electronic notification to say “I’m here; come take a look; get me noticed”.
