The First Stringed Craft: Bead Jewelry

However clever, this process consumes time and re-stringing could prove expensive. Hence, bead stringing wire is an alternative to allow for more sturdy craftsmanship. Used correctly, this material won’t break. It is made of stainless steel coated with vinyl which makes for a stronger wire. Choosing to start off with bead stringing wire makes for stronger and more flexible pieces.

As strong a piece as it is alone, it also serves as adornment to clothing. This helps crafters maximize its production as it is incorporated to sections of fabric. Broad collar neck pieces used for weddings and costumes often have beaded jewelry sewn onto fabric backings. It helps punctuate a designer’s statement to elevate the concept and prestige of a garment. This makes beaded jewelry useful not just for accessorizing but also for clothing design.

In spite its simplicity, the range in style, shape and color of bead jewelry add diversity to fashion and clothing design. It is often described by crafters as a deceptively simple craft and entrepreneurs as a profitable business.
