Gold and Gold Bars
Gold is a chemical element with the symbol “Au” from the Latin word Aurum which means shining dawn which is also observable on its color. It has been a trending metal for coinage, jewelry, electronic devices and art works dating back in history. The original metals are discovered as nuggets or grains of rocks resided on huger rocks on caves. Gold metal is dense in nature, soft and shiny in texture, and the best known malleable and ductile metal there is. Bright yellow in color is how gold looks like.

The more pure a gold is the more it expensive it is. Gold are rated in ways of karat. Karat determines the purity of a gold item. Gold is used as a coinage metal, and has served as a basis of wealth of a person owning one.
Historically, gold has been used as form of monetary value and is essential in trading before. Not only gold was involved in monetary usage but it also is at some point being idolized by earlier people. Due to its elegant form and shining image, they believed that it is something to be worshipped.
Transition metal is what gold is determined to be. Chemically speaking, transition metals are least reactive to acids and other corrosive materials. But gold could be dissolved by certain chemical agents such as agua regia and cyanide solution. In gold mining, it is hard to determine the ores being mined if it is either gold or any kind of mineral. In order to determine it, nitric acid is used. Nitric acid could not dissolve gold, but dissolve silver and any other base metals. This process is called “acid test“.

Gold bar is a composition of refined gold metals. It is composed of gold metals refined together to form a bar shape or a thin sheet of gold for convenient usage. In producing gold bars, it undergoes standards in manufacturing, labeling, and refining. Gold bars are being sealed or stamped to determine its net weight and the type of gold it possesses. Its karat value is important to be indicated to determine the value for the gold bar. The advisable bar forms for trading and investment is the 1000 gram gold bar, it is called kilo bar. Because the premium for gold bars of this type are relatively low over the spot value of gold and ideal for small transfer between dealers and banks.
