The Kindle DX Ebook Reader
Welcome to the Kindle DX, Amazon’s newest digital book reader, which is larger but thinner than the original Kindle. The newest addition is thinner than most magazines, weighs less than a pound, and is just 1/3 of an inch thick. Don’t be misled by its slim profile, though, because with storage space for up to 3.500 books, the Kindle DX can contain more reading material than a small library.
By carrying this digital book reader in your pocket, you’re essentially carrying a library and all its knowledge with you wherever you go. With its wireless 3G network access to online books, you simply search for a book and click to buy it. In addition to newspapers and magazines, along with more than 300,000 books to select, shop with the network’s fast downloads. You’ll have your favorite reading materials at your fingertips in seconds because you can access the wireless network from anywhere, without the need for a PC or cell phone. This feature is offered without a required contract or membership fee. Amazon offers it as part of the Kindle DX service.
The Kindle DX’s larger screen (9.7″ diagonally) and revolutionary digital paper is designed to look like you are reading regular paper with the added ability to adjust the text size at at the push of a button. The long battery life even allows you to read your Kindle DX for up to four days straight while accessing the wireless network, and as long as two weeks unconnected.
Text and images are sharp and clear because the the DX e-ink provides 16 shades of gray. Kindle DX offers many unique features not found on other ebook readers. This new ereader also features a text-to-speech component, which gives you the ability to listen while the Kindle reads aloud from books, magazines, blogs, or newspapers. You can also sample books before purchasing as the first chapter of many books is available for free.
The Kindle DX is equipped with a keyboard for you to type the names of books you’d like to read or make notations as you read. If you have notes to edit, delete, or export, text to copy, or just want to mark pages to return to, you can to control the digital text. You don’t need to mark the point where you stop reading, because the Kindle remembers that for you and opens right to it when you return. It’s the best in high-tech reading.
